The Kia K5 is a favorite among the customers who set foot in a Kia dealership. This mid-size family car has been available since 2000, albeit originally as the Kia Optima. It has always been a favorite among budget-conscious motorists, and that looks set to continue in 2023.

The GT Trim Has Impressive Levels of Power

The K5 comes with a selection of four trim levels, and you’ll be given a choice of two engines among them. The LXS, GT-Line, and EX trims are powered by a 180-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides more acceleration than most of the K5’s immediate rivals. However, the 290-horsepower version of this engine that comes with the top-tier GT trim provides an extra layer of fun for adrenaline junkies.

You can expect to go from zero to 60 in just 5.7 seconds if you opt for this 2.5-liter engine. Paired with an 8-speed quick-shift transmission, you can guarantee a smooth and enjoyable ride. There are few other sedans in this price range with the acceleration offered in the GT trim.

There Are Safety Features Galore

The impressive range of safety features ensures that you’ll have a safe and comfortable ride whenever you make a journey in your K5. The most notable features include the latest emergency braking technology, blind spot detection, lane-keep assist, front parking sensors, smart cruise control with highway driving assist, and more. These features can be monitored and controlled via the 10.25-inch touchscreen which comes as standard in all trims.

Kia Connect is another important feature that’s unique to all Kia vehicles. This smartphone app allows you to control various features of your vehicle remotely. It includes remote lock/unlock, remote climate control a ‘find my car’ feature, and it will alert you if there’s movement in your passenger seats (from a forgotten child or pet, for example).

You’ll Drive In Luxury

The K5 doesn’t just look stylish on the outside. There are various interior features that’ll make your drive feel much more luxurious, too. These include a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, plus acoustic front door glass to lower road noise. The sound system can connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Alexa and Google Voice integration is also available.

On top of that, the GT-Line, EX, and GT trims offer all-wheel drive, allowing for a more comfortable driving experience off the road.
