Aged or damaged components can cause numerous problems for your Kia’s engine. Engine problems grow worse over time, and this can result in higher repair bills. As your Kia dealer, we have the expert technicians to fix any of these problems and prevent them from escalating. These are a few of the issues we can repair for you.

Clogged Radiator

The radiator is the most important component in your engine cooling system. As your engine works, the numerous moving parts generate enormous amounts of heat. This heat has to be removed from your engine to prevent it from overheating. Liquid coolant passes through your engine, absorbs the radiating heat, and transports it to the radiator for removal.

Coolant also absorbs dirt, rust particles, metal shavings, and other tiny debris in the engine. All this detritus is left behind in the radiator when the coolant flows back into your engine. As time passes, this detritus will gradually clog your radiator tubes, and this prevents the heat exchange process. We can fix this problem by removing your radiator and performing a radiator flush to clear any blockages.

Timing Chain Issues

The timing chain runs between the camshaft in the top section of your engine and the crankshaft in the bottom section of the engine. This metal chain synchronizes the movement between the engine sections, allowing inlet and outflow valves in the engine sections to open at precise intervals. This synchronization is vital for your engine to perform optimally.

The timing chain is made from toughened metal but can become worn over time. If this happens, you’ll hear strange metallic noises, your engine can suffer misfiring, and the check engine light will illuminate. If a damaged timing chain isn’t replaced, it can result in permanent damage to the cylinders and other engine components. Our technicians will examine the chain, and we can replace, and the problems will disappear.

Dirty Intake Manifold

The intake manifold is the section of your engine where fuel and air mix. Fuel is pumped into the manifold via the fuel injectors, and air flows in through the engine air filter. Sensors monitor the fuel and air quantities in the manifold to allow them to mix in a precise ratio for efficient combustion. Once the fuel and air have mixed, they’re drawn into the cylinders to be compressed and ignited to produce combustion.

Fuel contains carbon, and carbon will gradually accumulate in the manifold. Its presence alters the fuel-air mixture, and this can result in misfiring, stalling, and possible damage to engine components. We’ll examine your manifold and clean it to remove the excess carbon.
