If your car’s air conditioning isn’t working, there may be a problem with the compressor or air filter. There could also be a possible leak somewhere in your air conditioning system. If you are driving and find your car AC not working, here are some warning signs that your Kia dealer should take a look at it.

Lukewarm Air Instead of Cold Air

If you’re setting your AC to “full blast” but the air that’s coming out is only lukewarm, that’s a sign that something is wrong. In most cases, this indicates that the Freon levels in your AC system are low and need to be refilled.

However, it could also be a sign of a more serious problem, like a leak in the system. If you notice this problem, take your car to your local dealer and have them take a look.

Strange Noises

If you hear strange noises coming from your AC unit, it’s definitely time to take your car in for service. These noises could indicate that there is something caught in the fan or that one of the parts is starting to wear out. Either way, you don’t want to ignore these noises.

Less Airflow

Is the air coming out of your vents not as strong as it used to be? If so, that’s another sign that something is wrong with your AC unit. A loss of airflow could indicate that there is something blocking the vents or that the fan isn’t working properly. Again, this is something you’ll want to have checked out by a professional.

Bad Smells

If you turn on your AC and are greeted by an unpleasant smell, that’s a definite sign that something is wrong. This smell could be caused by mold or mildew build-up inside the unit, or it could be indicative of an oil or coolant leak.

High Engine Temperature

Does the engine temperature gauge in your car always seem to be creeping into the “hot” zone? If so, it’s possible that your AC unit is putting extra strain on your engine by running continuously.

This problem can usually be fixed by simply replacing the air filter; however, if the issue persists, it could be indicative of a more serious problem with the AC unit itself. Be sure to have your car checked out by your car dealership if you notice any problems with the engine temperature gauge while using the AC unit.

No one wants to be stuck in a hot car without working air conditioning! If you’ve been noticing any of these warning signs lately, it’s important to take action right away and have your car checked out by your local dealership.
